Kona Community Hospital to Receive $18.5M in Funding for Upgrades

The Hawaiʻi State Legislature announced that it will appropriate $18.5 million to Kona Community Hospital to fund important improvements to the facility.

The $18.5 million will be used on various projects which include the following:

  • $16.2 million to repair and replace crucial infrastructure. This funding will be used to improve the hospital’s HVAC system, central utility plant, site utilities, and other building infrastructure.
  • $2.3 million to expand the Pharmacy Drug Compounding Facility Funding will enable the hospital to maintain its accreditation and continue providing potentially life-saving medication for oncology patients.

The budget heads to Governor Josh Green’s desk for signature
