40 year-old Adonis Higa of Puna was arrested and charged in relation to a recent sexual assault at a Hawaiian Paradise Park residence .
Yesterday, Higa made his initial Hilo District Court appearance where his bail was maintained at $50,000.00 and he was ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing on November 13.
Higa is charged with Attempted Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, a class B felony offense that carries a maximum penalty of a ten-year prison term.
The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Heipua Ah Loy.
