The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of December 29, 2025. A Holiday Lane Closure Restriction is running through Sunday, Jan. 4. During this time, only closures with demonstrated need (e.g., necessary for safety or to avoid lengthy construction delays) have been approved and are on this list. There will be no lane closures or Highway 130 Contraflow on Thursday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 3.5 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Kahoa Street, on Monday, December 29 to Tuesday, December 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for emergency zone work paving and striping.
