A male surfer was bitten by a shark near the Pine Trees surf break at Hanalei Bay yesterday afternoon.
The victim sustained leg injuries but is not in critical condition
First responders treated him on-site before transferring him to Wilcox Medical Center.
Hanalei Bay is currently closed to swimming until further notice. Lifeguards will reassess ocean conditions this afternoon.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources has also been notified.
