The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of October 27, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.
VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11)
MOUNTAIN VIEW
Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 20 to 22, in the vicinity of North Glenwood Road, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mowing and shoulder work.
2) VOLCANO
Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 27.5 to 28.5, in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Crater Rim Drive, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for HELCO installing new powerline poles.
MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)
PAHALA
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 55 to 57, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.
NAALEHU
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 60 to 71, in the vicinity of Kahuku Ranch Road, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping, installation of centerline rumble strips and pavement markers.
PAPA
Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 85 to 96, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kaohe Road, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strips, new striping, and pavement markers.

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97 to 100, in the vicinity of Haleili Road, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass and shoulder work.
HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 5 to 7.5, in the vicinity of Kahoa Place and Kalaoa Camp Road, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for shoulder work.
PAPAIKOU
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6.9 to 7.1, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing new cable lines.

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 17 to 19, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping, installing new raised pavement markers and traffic signal loops.
