The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) Food Safety Branch authorized the reopening of Kenichi Pacific, issuing a green “pass” placard during a follow-up inspection on August 4.
The restaurant, located in Kailua-Kona, is operated by Dragonfly Hospitality Group, LLC.
The DOH required the food establishment to complete the following corrective actions:
- Discard all contaminated food products.
- Hire a professional pest control operator and submit the service report to DOH.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect all food- and non-food contact surfaces.
- Remove unnecessary equipment and supplies to prevent harborage sites.
- Conduct maintenance and repair of the mechanical dishwasher and refrigerators.
During the follow-up inspection, the DOH determined that all corrective actions had been completed.
