DOH Authorizes Reopening of Kenichi Pacific in Kailua-Kona

The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) Food Safety Branch authorized the reopening of Kenichi Pacific, issuing a green “pass” placard during a follow-up inspection on August 4.

The restaurant, located in Kailua-Kona, is operated by Dragonfly Hospitality Group, LLC.

The DOH required the food establishment to complete the following corrective actions:

  • Discard all contaminated food products.
  • Hire a professional pest control operator and submit the service report to DOH.
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect all food- and non-food contact surfaces.
  • Remove unnecessary equipment and supplies to prevent harborage sites.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair of the mechanical dishwasher and refrigerators.

During the follow-up inspection, the DOH determined that all corrective actions had been completed.
