The Hawai’i County Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) will open its waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher Section 8 Program at 9 a.m. on August. 1.
The waiting list will remain open until further notice.
The program provides rental assistance to eligible low-income individuals and families, allowing them to rent safe, decent and affordable housing in the private market.
To qualify, applicants may not exceed 80% of the Area Median Income.
Applications must be completed and submitted electronically through the OHCD’s online application portal.
There is no cost to apply. Only one application per family is allowed.
