The Band Perry confirms return to country music

The Band Perry confirmed their official return to country music, coming 15 years after they released their debut studio album on June 6, 2010.

The trio surprised fans with a performance on CMA Fest’s Hard Rock Stage as part of CMA Fest in Downtown Nashville.  They shared in a statement: “After stepping away to take a break and evolve, we’re feeling more grounded, more fired-up, and more connected to our roots than ever. Country music has always been home for us—and we feel so grateful to still have a seat at the table. We’re bringing everything we’ve lived, everything we’ve learned, and a whole new energy into this next season. We can’t wait to share what’s coming.”

Siblings Kimberly Perry, Reid Perry and Neil Perry launched the group with their self-titled debut album in 2010, with hit singles including “If I Die Young,” “Better Dig Two,” “DONE” and more. They went on to win Grammys, Country Music Association Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, CMT Music Awards and six No. 1 singles; “If I Die Young” is nine-times platinum, won 2011 CMA Song and Single of the Year awards respectively, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song, spent 53 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and topped both the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Hot AC charts.

The Band Perry is returning with original members Kimberly and Reid, plus Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello. In early 2023, they announced that they “decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits.” They reunited for a homecoming show earlier this year to help with Hurricane Helene relief efforts, with Neil continuing his solo endeavors.
