Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of June 9

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 9, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. In observance of Kamehameha Day on Wednesday, June 11, there will be no Highway 130 contraflow and no daytime lane closures unless otherwise permitted. All projects are weather permitting.

 

HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction at the intersections with Piilani Street, Hualani Street, and Kekuanaoa Street on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to maintain directional markings.

HILO

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction at the Kilauea Avenue T-intersection on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to maintain directional markings.

 

 VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11) 

KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 9.7 to 10.2, in the vicinity of Huina Road and Ualani Road on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for waterline tie in.

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 46 to 48, in the vicinity of Kapapala Ranch, on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 101 to 103, in the vicinity of Ke Alanui O Aoi and Kiilae Road, on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 

HONOMU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 12 to 14, vicinity of Kolekole Beach Park and Kapehu Stream, on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

 

OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction at mile post 30 on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, and Thursday, June 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge repairs on Kaula Bridge.

PAAUILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 33 to 35, in the vicinity of Mauna Kea Ranch Road and Antone DeLuz Road on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. tree trimming and shoulder work.

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving and striping.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 8 to 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming.

PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. striping and installing new raised pavement markers.

 

HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13 from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. for installation of asphalt curbs.
