The Hawai‘i County Police Department’s Police Athletic League (HI-PAL) and officers with the Hilo Community Policing Section officers recently held an outreach event for the children of the Lanakila Housing Complex in Hilo.
During the event, 30 keiki ranging in age from toddlers to teenagers, played kickball, wiffleball, and flag football with officers.
HPD’s Bike Patrol unit demonstrated bike safety and answered kids’ questions during the event.
