As part of its continuing community outreach about the dangers of fentanyl, the Hawai‘i County Police Department (HPD) provides monthly updates on the number of County fentanyl related arrests (possession/distribution) quantity as well as the amount fentanyl recovered for the preceding month.During the month of June, there was a total of 1 fentanyl related arrest in East Hawai‘i (Area 1) and none in West Hawai‘i (Area 2). During this time, police recovered a total of 56.14 grams of illicit fentanyl, all in Area I, as well as 33 pills in Area I and none in Area II.
