Acting director of White Office Travel Office mugged in Waikik

By Associated Press

HONOLULU (AP) _ The acting director of the White House Travel Office was robbed and beaten in Waikiki early this morning outside a night club.

Greg Pitts was mugged by two men at two a-m outside of Bobby G's Dance Club.

He had apparently left the bar alone.

Pitts was accompanying President Bush on a brief visit to Hawaii. The stop came after an eight-day trip to Asia.

While Bush stayed at Hickam Air Force Base, White House staff, crew from airplane and reporters stayed at Hilton Hawaiian Village near Waikiki.

A group was at Duke's for dinner and crossed over to Bobby G's near the International Marketplace.

He's been admitted to Queen's Medical Center and will not be boarding the plane for the return to Washington.
