HONOLULU (AP) _ Hawaii returned to a familiar place in August, once again posting the lowest unemployment rate in the nation.
The seasonally adjusted rate dipped to two-point-eight percent, down from three percent in July and the year's high of three-point-one percent in June. Nationwide, unemployment dipped slightly to four-point-seven percent.
The Department of Labor and Industrial Relations reports Hawaii is now the only state with under three percent unemployment. South Dakota, Virginia and Utah are all at three-point-two percent.
The Hawaii labor force topped 650-thousand in August, with 632-thousand-200 employed and just 18-thousand-200 reported jobless.
