HONOLULU (AP) _ The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Hawaii broke three-dollars today for the first time since October.
Triple-A says the average price is three-dollars and two cents, up from yesterday's two-99.
The national average is two-dollars and 71 cents.
Maui has the highest prices with an average of three-dollars and 28 cents. Oahu's average is two-dollars and 93 cents.
Prices are expected to climb soon.
The state Public Utilities Commission says the cap on wholesale gasoline prices in Hawaii will go up 13 cents next week.
The weekly caps are based on a five-day average of spot rates in Los Angeles, New York harbor and the Gulf Coast.
