LIHUE, Hawaii (AP) _ Grove Farm Company and D-R Horton's Schuler Division are planning to develop more than 400 single and multi-family homes on Kauai.
Nearly 180 of the 440 homes planned for Hanamaulu Triangle on 54 acres near Lihue will be affordable housing units, according to the developer.
The sale of the land from Grove Farm to Schuler was finalized this month for an undisclosed price.
The project will be called Kohea Loa, which means ``a sustained period of serene weather.''
The developer says the homes will initially be marketed to qualified Kauai residents.
