HONOLULU (AP) _ Aston Hotels and Resorts Hawaii will become ResortQuest Hawaii as it adopts the name of its parent company, a mainland hotel operator.
The company plans to hold a news conference in Waikiki tomorrow to announce its new name and logo.
ResortQuest International bought Aston from founder Andre Tatibouet in 1998 for 30 million dollars plus stock.
ResortQuest International manages vacation rentals across the United States from Florida to Maine to California. It also has properties in British Colombia.
ResortQuest International is owned by Tennessee-based Gaylord Entertainment Co.
Tatibouet founded the Hotel Corporation of the Pacific in 1968 and later changed the name to Aston. He continued to serve as president of the hotel chain until 2002, four years after selling it.
