Ex-warden, prison officer face charges in sex investigation

BRUSH, Colo. (AP) Court files say a former officer at a privately run women's prison in Colorado, where nearly half the inmates are from Hawaii, faces a charge of having sex with an inmate. The files say a former warden faces a charge of being an accessory. The files, released today, also show two other officers and seven inmates at the Brush Correctional Facility are accused of smuggling tobacco into the prison. Alison Morgan, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Corrections, says another officer was charged earlier with sexual misconduct. She says more charges could be filed. The prison holds 80 inmates from Hawaii, 73 from Colorado and 45 from Wyoming. (Copyright 2005 Associated Press. All rights reserved.)
