By 67AM KPUA News

The Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that camping permits for Kohanaiki Beach Park, north of Kailua-Kona are now available online.

Park users can go to the site hawaiicounty.ehawaii.gov to check on space availability and purchase permits required for overnight stays at the site also known as Pine Trees.

Kohanaiki is Hawai`i Countys newest and largest campground, which can accommodate up to 80 campers nightly, except for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, when camping is not allowed.

Camping permits also may be obtained by applying in person at either of the Departments administrative offices located at 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 6 in Hilo and in Building B of the West Hawaii Civic Center, 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway in Kailua-Kona.
