Hilo man killed in early morning crash

By 67AM KPUA News

A 40-year old Hilo man has died from injuries sustained in a single car crash early Tuesday morning. Police say Tracy S. Pack was heading southbound on Kinoole Street in Hilo around 2:00 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a chain link fence and
hit a building north of the Kinoole/Puainako Street intersection.

Pack was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 4:30 a.m. Speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash.

This is the Big Islands second fatality of the year, compared to none at this time a year ago.
