A female hiker who became separated from her group on Mauna Kea is safe and sound after being found nearly a day later and several miles from where she was last seen. 59-year old Jennifer Ho of Hilo began feeling ill around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday while
hiking with a group that included her husband, Nelson. She elected to stay behind near the Mauna Kea Access Road, but was gone when they returned some two hours later. Firefighters launched an aerial and ground search, which ended shortly after noon
Thursday when Ho was found near the 23 mile marker on Saddle Road.
