Officer loses part of finger during arrest

HONOLULU (AP) — A Honolulu Police officer lost part of his finger during an arrest. Police say the 41-year-old officer was attempting on Wednesday to arrest a 52-year-old man suspected of trespassing when the man bit off the tip of the officer's finger. Hawaii News Now reports that the officer was taken to a hospital in serious condition. The man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and trespassing.
