HONOLULU (AP) — Gov. Neil Abercrombie has selected three nominations to the University of Hawaii Board of Regents.
The nominations of Eugene Ball III, Barry T. Mizuno and Randolph A. Moore would need to be confirmed by the Senate.
Ball is a retired U.S. Navy captain with 25 years of military service and has served as the executive director of the Maui High Performance Computing Center for the past 16 years.
Mizuno was the onsite manager for the Puna Geothermal Venture before retiring from a private energy consulting firm in 2012.
Moore, the at-large nominee, is a retired business executive, middle school teacher and Department of Education administrator.
If confirmed, Ball and Mizuno's terms for the Maui and Hawaii County seats, respectively, begin July 1.
Moore would begin his term immediately after confirmation.
