Monday proved to be a rough morning for swimmers at Hapuna Beach State Park. Fire Rescue personnel say a female visitor was transported to North Hawai`i Community Hospital with back and neck injuries after being struck by strong waves. Witnesses say as she was being treated, a second swimmer required help from lifeguards. They were among a total of five people who ended up needing help during a two hour period that began shortly after 10:00 a.m. The island was under a high surf advisory at the time of the incidents.
