Man drowns on Maui

WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — A man who was found face-down in waters off Maui has died. KHON-TV says rescue crews got a report Monday of a 28-year-old missing fisherman at Pilali Bay. The local man was found about 100 yards offshore in surf that was about 10 feet at the time. He was brought to shore and pronounced dead. Also Monday, a 60-year-old Japanese woman was pulled from the waters of Kapalua Bay. She was with her husband and son snorkeling at the bay. She was reported in critical condition. A 55-year-old woman from Canada also was reported in critical condition after being pulled from the water near Ka'anapali Villas.
