Vulcans split in day one of Hilo Round Robin

The University of Hawai`i at Hilo opened the Hilo Round Robin Softball Tournament with a split defeating Missouri Western State 9-1 and losing to Western Oregon 11-1 at Waimea Community Park. Rain and the threat of more rain prompted moving the rest of the tournament to Waimea, where cold and windy conditions prevailed on Thursday. In today’s action, the Vulcans play Western Oregon at 12:15 and Missouri Western State at 2:30 p.m.
