Two charged with robbery of Kona teen
|

|
Two Kailua Kona women have been arrested and charged with last Friday’s robbery of a teenage girl. The victim, identified as a 13-year old Kailua-Kona girl was waiting for a Hele-On bus at the intersection of Kealaka`a and Kealakehe Streets around 2:30 p.m. when two women approached her, attacked her and stole her backpack.
Detectives identified the suspects and issued an all points bulletin for 18-year old Judie Kahele and 19-year old Kayla Arellano, who were taken into custody at 10:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
The two were charged on Thursday with second-degree robbery, third degree assault and fourth-degree theft. Police were able to recover the victim’s backpack.
