Wind Advisory extended for Hawai`i/Maui Counties

The National Weather Service says a wind advisory remains in effect for portions of the Big Island and Maui until 6:00 p.m. this evening. Forecasters say high pressure far north of the state will maintain strong and gusty trade winds across the islands through the early evening hours. Easterly winds of 25 to 30 miles per hour with localized gusts over 45 miles per hour are expected to occur in areas exposed to the strong trades.
