Vulcans split with HPU

The University of Hawai`i at Hilo men’s basketball team picked up a much-needed win with a 78-62 victory over Hawai`i Pacific University in Pac West Conference hoop action Monday at the UH Hilo Gym. Michael Melonas led the Vulcans with 17 points. The Vulcan women were not so fortunate as they dropped a 62-61 decision to the Sea Warriors, despite 17 point performances from UH Hilo’s Kirsty Imai and Jameia McDuffie.
