HONOLULU (AP) — Most bills for this session have already been heard, but there is still a steady stream of hearings planned this week before lawmakers begin a five-day recess on Thursday.
The House judiciary committee will consider a bill today to require lawmakers to file financial disclosure statements at the start of the session.
Tomorrow, the Senate judiciary committee will hear a bill aimed at resolving the state's unfunded liabilities. Meanwhile, the Senate ways and means committee tomorrow will consider whether to require county police to fingerprint and perform background checks on people who register guns from out of state. The bill would also fund a gun buyback program.
Senate committees on health and human services will also review candidates for various boards and councils statewide.
