Sakai confirmed as Public Safety Director

The State Senate on Thursday unanimously confirmed Ted Sakai as Director of the Department of Public Safety, which oversees state prisons. Sakai had been serving in an acting capacity since being appointed to the position in June. He previously served as Public Safety Director under former Governor Ben Cayetano and as warden of the Waiawa Correctional Facility.
