Police are warning the public to exercise caution when approached by “door to door” salespersons following complaints last week from the North Kona area. Complaints were received from the Kona Highlands and Kona Palisades areas about an unidentified
male walking door to door soliciting his services, but was unable to provide proper identification for his alleged business. Anyone approached by a “door to door” salesperson should insist on the proper identification, company identification, a website
or a phone number where they can be verified as a representative of that company.
The public is also reminded that they have the right to refuse service and request that the person(s) leave their property. If you feel you are being harassed, please call the Police
non-emergency number at 935-3311 or if it is an emergency, dial 911.
