Big Island tourist says he was robbed

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) — A tourist from Japan says he was robbed in Kona on the Big Island. The 41-year-old visitor says three men robbed him early Thursday in the city's downtown while he was walking with friends to his hotel. The Hawaii Police Department says the man reports that he was knocked to the ground, punched and kicked. He says the three robbers then took his fanny pack. Police say they believe the three men are locals. They say they have detailed descriptions of them.
