Police are warning the public of a possible scam in which individuals are impersonating an employee from the County Tax Office. A female party in a white, unmarked vehicle
reportedly identified herself as a contract hire who was checking on properties for tax purposes. But she was unable to produce a County employee identification card when asked to do so. Police say all field work is done by Real Property Tax Office personnel
with photo identification and business cards and in county vehicles with county seals visible on the side. If you witness any suspicious behavior, call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
