Paraglider injured in crash

A 45-year old man had to be rescued from a tree on Saturday when his paraglider crashed in an old coffee field above Honaunau. Firefighters responding to the 11:07 a.m. alarm say the pilot told them he went into a downward spiral some 300-400 feet above the ground before crashing. The man was freed and taken by ambulance to Kona Community Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
