Woman charged in Downtown Hilo robbery

A 23-year old Hilo woman has been charged with several offenses in connection with last Thursday’s armed robbery of a business at the corner of Keawe Street and Furneaux Lane in downtown Hilo. Tia Nohelani Menino has been charged with first degree robbery and terroristic threatening, along with multiple counts of theft and several firearms offenses. Police say a 33-year old female employee reported being accosted by a woman who displayed a handgun, demanded money and fled in a white pickup truck with an undisclosed amount of cash.
