HONOLULU (AP) — For the second time in two weeks, a fiber optic cable in Honolulu has been vandalized.
Hawaii News Now says the cable that was cut Wednesday night is near one that broke during a fire last week under the airport viaduct.
Oceanic Cable says phone and cable services around the state again have been affected.
Police say a 42-year-old homeless man who was allegedly trying to steal copper was arrested around 10:55 p.m. Crews from the Hawaiian Electric Company discovered the man's activities and reported them to the police.
