HILO, Hawaii (AP) — Police on the Big Island say two badly decomposed bodies have been found off a highway in Hilo.
The first was discovered nearly a week ago off an area called "ATV Trail Park." Police say an autopsy was done but the results and the cause of death are awaiting toxicology reports.
The body was discovered while police were conducting a search for the body of 44-year-old Dante Peter Gilman of Hawaiian Acres. Police say he was murdered in his home in late December.
The second body was discovered Tuesday morning after police received a tip. Both bodies were found off Stainback Highway in Hilo. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday on the second body.
Claude Keone Krause and his cousin, Kawena Krause, have been charged with Gilman's murder.
