Power was temporarily interrupted to nearly 4,400 customers in Kohala, Pepeekeo, Kaloko and parts of Hilo on Monday. Hawai`i Electric Light Company says Hawi Renewable Wind Farm tripped offline at 11:29 a.m. forcing the company to shed its
load to protect the equipment. Troubleshooters were able to restore power to all customers within seven minutes with the help of additional generators. The cause is under investigation.
