Girlfriend of Hilo stabbing victim released

A 37-year old Hilo woman arrested in connection with Monday morning’s fatal stabbing of her boyfriend was released last night pending further investigation. Cherie Sueko Moskwa was arrested Monday evening on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of 38-year old Lloyd Rubio, the owner of Big Island construction. South Hilo patrol officers were summoned to the 1400 block of Kaumana Drive at 5:19 a.m. Monday morning, where they found Rubio with a stab wound. He was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where he died at 7:11 a.m. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Detective Wendall Carter at 961-2378 or the police non emergency number at 935-3311.
