Schatz appoints Winer as chief of staff

Hawai`i U.S. Senator Brian Schatz has appointed Honolulu attorney and veteran Democratic political strategist Andy Winer as his chief of staff. Winer, who previously worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration also practiced law in Honolulu for 25 years and was a partner in a firm for 15 years. He served as Senator Daniel Akaka’s campaign manager during his 2006 re-election,was state director of the 2008 Obama Presidential campaign and senior advisor to Mazie Hirono in her 2012 Senate campaign.
