Coast Guard search suspended for missing swimmer

PUNA, Hawaii (AP) — The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a man who was swept off a cliff and into rough seas near the southeast side of the Big Island. The Coast Guard in Honolulu says when they received notification on Sunday afternoon that a swimmer was missing near Kehena Beach, it launched a helicopter from its station at Barbers Point to help in the search. Hawaii News Now says the Coast Guard suspended its search Monday evening. The Hawaii County Fire Department is continuing its search.
