Laupahoehoe woman injured in fall

A 53-year old woman was injured Wednesday after she slipped and fell some 50-feet off a cliff behind her yard in Laupahoehoe. Fire rescue personnel responding to a 1:00 p.m. alarm arrived on scene around 1:20 p.m. to find the woman laying on the Old Laupahoehoe Point Road hiking trail awake and alert. She was transported via helicopter to Hilo Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
