Oregon gunman was reportedly Hawai`i bound

A former roommate says the Oregon mall gunman who killed two people and himself Tuesday was planning to move to Hawai`i before the shooting. In an interview with The Oregonian, the man, who declined to be identified, said Jacob Tyler Roberts had sold all his personal belongings, but missed his flight to Hawai`i Saturday. Police say Roberts had armed himself with an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle he had stolen from someone he knew and had several fully loaded magazines. The rifle jammed during the 22-year-old's attack, but he managed to get it working again. Authorities say they don’t have a motive for the shootings.
