Hilo defies downward trend in gas prices

Retail gas prices declined again over the past week throughout Hawai`i, with one exception, according to the AAA Hawai`i Weekend Gas Watch. The Hawai`i statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded declined by two cents to $4.03 per gallon which was 24 cents less than last month and four cents lower than last year. Hilo defied the downward trend as the average price rose three cents from the previous week to $4.02 a gallon, which was 26 cents less than last month and 23 cents less than at this time last year.
