Former Hilo man charged in robbery

A former Hilo man has been charged with multiple offenses for a May 25th robbery that sent the victim to a hospital on O`ahu for treatment of a serious head injury. A 68-year old Hilo man told police upon his release from the hospital in October that he was transporting a couple to a location in Hilo around 1:00 a.m. when he was assaulted and had his wallet stolen. Police charged 26-year old Timothy Russ Southern Junior, who has no permanent address with robbery, assault and theft. He was being held at the Hilo cellblock on $85,000 bail.
