WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — The Coast Guard has suspended the search for a small plane that went missing over the weekend.
Maui pastry chef Jose Krall, owner of the popular Maui Bake Shop & Deli, is believed to be the only person aboard the Cessna 172 that disappeared Saturday. The plane was going from Maui to Molokai.
The Coast Guard said a debris field was found about two miles north of Maui in the area where the airplane disappeared from radar. A landing gear wheel that could match one on Krall's aircraft was among the debris.
The Coast Guard suspended its search Monday afternoon.
