Hawai`i U.S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye sustained a minor cut to the back of his head following a fall at his home Thursday and was taken to the Bethesda Naval Hospital as a precautionary measure. The 88-year old Democrat and World War II combat veteran
wanted to put a bandage on and go to work, but his family insisted he get it checked out. A statement from his office said Inouye did not lose consciousness and was returned to his home in Maryland after being checked out. Inouye is the Senate's most senior
member and, as president pro tempore of the Senate, is third in the line of succession to the presidency.
