Big Island Mac Nut producer introduces new lines

The Hilo-based company formerly known as ML Macadamia Orchards LP not only has a new name, but a new line of products. Royal Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Company last week launched twelve new flavored nut products featuring five different seasonings (wasabi/soy, barbecue, Maui onion, sea salt and sea salt/cracked pepper), and a line of seven fruit-and-nut clusters (mango/pineapple, papaya/lime, banana nut, Kona coffee/banana, blueberry/pomegranate, passion fruit/orange/guava and papaya/banana)as part of its strategy to diversify its business and sell more nuts. Company President Dennis Simonis says the company hopes to capitalize on the trend of consumers buying nuts as a healthful snack, which is an area typically dominated by other kinds of nuts.
