HONOLULU (AP) — A report finds that Hawaii is among the states with the lowest number of completed foreclosures.
The new report by Calif.-based firm CoreLogic looked at foreclosures in September.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser says it found that Hawaii had 436. Only South Dakota and the District of Columbia had fewer.
The five states with the highest numbers of foreclosures were California, Florida, Texas, Georgia and Michigan. Those state account for more than 47 percent of completed foreclosures nationally.
CoreLogic's president says the continuing downward trend indicates that the housing market is stabilizing and improving.
