Police identify second victim in double fatality

Police have identified the second man who died Sunday (October 21) in a two-vehicle crash on Hawai`i Belt Road (Route 19) in the area of the 8-mile marker north of Hilo as 65-year-old Frank Rosol of a Hakalau address. Traffic investigators say Rosol was heading north in a pick-up truck on the Hanawi Bridge shortly before 7:30 p.m. when he apparently crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound multi-purpose vehicle operated by 61-year old Miles Nakanishi of Hilo. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.A 6-year old boy and 11-year old girl were hospitalized on O`ahu in critical condition, while two women, ages 60 and 80 were confined at Hilo Medical Center in serious condition.
